Torah perspective
Waste becomes holiness when intention directs it upward. Students at Kfar HaRoeh collected hundreds of thousands of discarded bottles and cans, and from the proceeds, a Torah scroll was written. This is the inner work of every Jew: to gather the scattered sparks of divinity hidden in the most ordinary and overlooked places, and to weave them into something that carries God's name. The letters of the Torah are formed not from silver and gold but from what others threw away. There is no material so low that it cannot be lifted into sanctity, and no effort so small that it cannot become part of the eternal word.
