When they were giving out the Jewish tech gene, I was offline
Some are People of the iPad. As for me and the rest of us, we are happy to remain the People of the Book
Assessment
This is a playful but pointed cultural commentary on the stereotype of Jewish technological prowess. The writer contrasts the 'People of the iPad' with the 'People of the Book,' suggesting a tension between modern tech identity and traditional Jewish intellectual life. The piece stakes out a position for those who feel left behind by the tech boom. Watch for whether this sparks debate about what Jewish excellence means today.
