A 17 year old British Jewish student voted in Israel's election for the first time, using a loophole tied to the Hebrew calendar that lets him participate despite living abroad. The story highlights how diaspora Jews can engage directly in Israeli politics, and the student's stated desire to 'bring about change' suggests this election drew unusual interest from young voters outside the country. Watch for whether other diaspora teens follow suit and how Israeli parties respond to this expanded electorate.
