PA chairman hopes Israeli election will open door to renewed peace talks
PA chairman Mahmoud Abbas expresses hope that Israel's next government will resume peace negotiations, following years of stalled diplomatic efforts

Mahmoud Abbas is signaling readiness to reengage with Israel's next government, but the message carries little weight after years of stalled talks. The hope rests on an election outcome that has not happened yet, so the practical effect is unclear. Watch whether Israeli political leaders respond publicly, since silence would confirm the diplomatic freeze continues.
