בריטניה איימה, לפי הדיווחים, לגרש 27 דיפלומטים ישראלים ובני משפחותיהם אם ישראל תסגור את הקונסוליה הבריטית במזרח ירושלים ותסיר דיפלומטים בריטים.
הקונסוליה צפויה להיסגר ב-8 באוקטובר לפי צו של שר החוץ גדעון סער בעקבות סנקציות בריטיות.
