Researchers at Mount Sinai in New York have identified a mechanism by which a key genetic risk factor for Alzheimer's may cause brain blood vessel scarring and harmful protein buildup. Lab and animal experiments successfully slowed this process. The question now is whether these findings can translate into new treatments for the disease.
