Jérusalem n'est pas simplement une capitale politique, mais le point même où le ciel et la terre se rencontrent, la porte par laquelle toute prière s'élève. Lorsque les nations du monde reconnaissent sa souveraineté, elles n'accordent pas une légitimité, mais reconnaissent une vérité tissée dans la trame même de la création. Le verset déclare : « Car de Sion sortira la Torah, et de Jérusalem la parole de Dieu. » La ville est le conduit de la sagesse divine vers toute l'humanité. Chaque déclaration de sa souveraineté est un pas vers l'accomplissement de la prophétie selon laquelle toutes les nations afflueront vers elle, non pour la conquérir, mais pour reconnaître que de ce lieu, la bénédiction se déverse sur le monde entier.
