Deux pièces anciennes sont revenues en Israël, l’une portant la ménorah du Temple frappée à l’époque hasmonéenne à Jérusalem, l’autre provenant d’Ashkelon. La pièce à la ménorah porte un message plus profond : elle a été frappée à l’époque hasmonéenne, lorsqu’un petit groupe de prêtres, fidèles à la Torah, a repris le Temple à l’oppression grecque. Cette même ménorah, allumée avec de l’huile pure qui n’aurait dû brûler qu’un jour mais qui a brillé huit jours, témoigne que lorsque nous agissons avec foi, la lumière dépasse la nature. Le retour de ces pièces en terre d’Israël aujourd’hui fait écho à ce même schéma : ce qui a été pris, que ce soit par conquête ou par vol, finit par retrouver son chemin vers la maison. Rien de ce qui appartient véritablement à la sainteté n’est jamais perdu pour toujours.
