Qatar is running a quiet diplomatic channel in Tehran, meeting with senior Iranian officials to prevent renewed fighting between Iran and Qatar. The United States is aware of this unusual visit. The key question is whether Qatar can actually deliver any de escalation, or if this is just a symbolic gesture that changes nothing on the ground.
