Oman's official silence on the Fly Dubai incident signals more than caution. The unofficial source's suggestion that Omanis find the story implausible points to a credibility gap between what authorities claim and what local populations accept. When a national narrative lacks domestic belief, the security and diplomatic implications compound: the state cannot project a unified front abroad while its own citizens question the facts at home. The next signal to watch is whether Oman's government breaks its silence to offer evidence or simply confirms the official version without elaboration.
