Haïfa has installed a smart crosswalk system that uses cameras to detect pedestrians and automatically trigger walk signals, removing the need for a button. The system was tested for two years and approved by the Transportation Ministry. Its first installation is on Oskar Schindler Street in an upscale neighborhood.
