A new catheter technology combining a balloon with electrical pulses, avoiding heat or cold, has been used for the first time in Israel at Laniado Hospital on two atrial fibrillation patients. Clinical data shows over 84% of patients with paroxysmal AF had no documented recurrence for a year. The key question is whether this approach meaningfully reduces complication risks compared to existing ablation methods, and how quickly it will become available beyond this initial trial.
