A community security volunteer's quick action during a terrorist attack at a synagogue is being honored with a national award. Andrew Franks was stabbed multiple times while tackling the attacker and warning worshippers to lock doors. The award highlights the real physical risk taken by ordinary people protecting Jewish communal spaces, and raises questions about how such incidents continue to shape security protocols.
