A Chabad Hasidic man was stabbed in Manhattan's Diamond District, and the NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating whether antisemitism motivated the attack. The involvement of Manhattan Shomrim, a Jewish volunteer safety patrol, signals the community's heightened alert. Watch for the NYPD's formal hate crime designation and any arrest, as the outcome will shape how New York's Jewish community perceives safety in a neighborhood dense with Jewish businesses and foot traffic.
