Torah perspective
A Turkish Muslim undergraduate saw the Oct. 7 massacre and, instead of joining the global chorus blaming Israel, recognized truth when she saw it. Three years later she is an immigrant in the Jewish state. The Torah's word for truth, emet, is composed of the first, middle, and last letters of the aleph-bet, teaching that truth holds everything together from beginning to end. What looks like a personal conversion story is also a quiet rebuke to a world that chose falsehood. One person who refuses to look away is enough to remind us that the Land of Israel does not belong to those who claim it by narrative, but to those who answer its call.
