Torah perspective
A Texas judge ordered a school district to display the Ten Commandments in every classroom. The deeper point is not about a poster on a wall. At Sinai, the Ten Commandments introduced a radical idea: law is not invented by the powerful but revealed from above. Every society since has had to reckon with that claim. Without a transcendent anchor, 'right' collapses into 'who has the power to enforce.' A classroom that hangs those words is quietly teaching that truth, whether the students know it or not. The foundation of justice is not a statute book. It is the recognition that some things are true whether or not anyone votes on them.
