Nearly a thousand Jews ascended to the Temple Mount on Sukkot, the holiday of joy. The Torah commands us to rejoice before God, and the highest joy is found at the place where heaven and earth meet. The Temple Mount is the foundation stone of creation, the site of the Binding of Isaac, and the gate of prayer for all nations. Every Jew who sets foot there on this holiday lives the verse 'How good and pleasant it is for brothers to dwell together in unity,' and that unity extends not only between people but with the Divine Presence that hovers there. This is the joy of Sukkot.
