Torah perspective
Saving a life overrides almost everything in the Torah. It is the highest expression of the divine image in us. When United Hatzalah's volunteers, many of whom ran toward danger on October 7, formalize their coordination with Israel's defense establishment, they enact a deep truth: the drive to rescue is not merely human decency but covenant. One who saves a single life saves an entire world (Sanhedrin 37a). Every ambulance, every coordination drill, every second shaved off response time becomes a vessel for that infinite light. Cooperation across agencies does not dilute the urgency. It multiplies the capacity to fulfill this sacred duty.
