Torah perspective
A nation that does not guard its gates will not long remain a nation. Barring entry to European parliamentarians traveling to the Palestinian Authority is not a diplomatic snub. It is a basic act of sovereignty rooted in the Torah's vision of the land of Israel as a place set apart. The land was given for a purpose: to build a society that reflects divine justice. Those who come to advance a political agenda that denies this purpose have no claim to enter. The guardians of the land are commanded to protect its sanctity, and that includes deciding who may cross its borders. This is not exclusion for its own sake. It is the responsibility of those who hold the key.
