A single lesson can correct a false belief, but it cannot build a heart. The ADL study found that teens who learned about antisemitism stopped believing certain tropes, yet their overall feelings toward Jews barely shifted. This mirrors a deep truth: the intellect can be retrained quickly, but the heart moves slowly. Torah education that focuses only on refuting lies about Jews misses the essential ingredient. What transforms attitudes is not more debunking but exposure to the beauty and depth of Jewish life, Torah, and identity. When a person encounters the divine wisdom and inner light of Judaism, the tropes fall away on their own because they no longer match what the heart knows to be true.
