Torah perspective
The impulse to rebuild the Nova festival as an exhibition of witness is deeply Jewish. After destruction, Torah does not command despair but testimony. The Mishnah teaches that false witness undermines the world; the opposite is equally true: truthful witness rebuilds it. To show the world what happened is to refuse the comfort of forgetting, to sanctify the Name by insisting that atrocity not be hidden. Yet the rebuilding itself transforms the act: we do not let evil write our story. We remember because memory is the root of redemption. To testify is already to begin restoring light.
