Torah perspective
Bringing harsh truth to those who have strayed is itself a form of love. The Torah commands rebuke, "Hocheach tochiach" (you shall surely rebuke), because silence masks complicity while truth spoken clearly can restore. When the ambassador calls a duplicitous lobby a "cancer," he echoes the tradition of the prophet Nathan confronting King David: the hardest words are sometimes the kindest, because they aim at correction, not destruction. What sounds undiplomatic may be the deepest fidelity. Refusing to let those who wrap themselves in "pro-Israel" labels continue deceiving themselves and endangering the people they claim to support is an act of real love, one that insists on truth.
