Torah perspective
The establishment of a US Justice Department advisory committee to combat the "rising tide" of Jew-hatred echoes an ancient truth. Hatred of the Jew has never been a rational political phenomenon; it is the shadow cast by the unique light of Israel's covenant with God. The sages taught that Esau hates Jacob by nature, not because of what Jacob does but because of who Jacob is. Yet the very nations that rise against Israel also contain the potential for their own rectification. A government body tasked with protecting Jews is a glimmer of the prophetic vision in which the nations will one day grasp the hand of the Jew and say, "Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you."
