Torah perspective
Before the giving of the Torah, at the foot of Mount Sinai, Israel encamped "as one person with one heart." The sages teach that this unity was the essential vessel, only when fractured individuals became a single organism could they receive the Torah, which is itself one seamless truth. Modern neuroscience now reveals mirror neurons that fire identically whether we act or witness another acting, blurring the boundary between self and other. What science rediscovers, Sinai already demanded: the deepest knowing is not solitary but shared. Each of us is a letter in the scroll; alone we are incomplete, together we spell the divine name.
