Torah perspective
The tension between waiting and acting cuts to the root of faith. When a commentator cries out for a strike against Iran, the Torah's teaching on patience comes to mind. Not passivity, but the hard work of aligning with divine timing. "The believer does not rush" (Isaiah 28:16), yet there is also a time for war. The true art lies in discerning which moment is which. Our sages taught that "erech apayim", being slow to anger, is God's own attribute, but it never means tolerating evil. The Mashiach will come not from impatience or from paralysis, but from clear-eyed readiness to act when Heaven opens the gate.
