Torah perspective
Mount Sinai was called Sinai because from it descended sinah, hatred, to the nations of the world. The sages teach that this hatred erupted not only because the Jewish people received the Jewish People received the Torah, but because the nations were offered it and refused. Every antisemitic attack is therefore a distorted reminder that the Torah still awaits all of humanity. The hatred is not a sign of weakness but of the weight of the mission. When a Jew is targeted simply for being a Jew, that is the world reacting to the presence of Sinai in our midst. The response is not to shrink, but to stand taller in the identity that the identity that draws the fire.
