Eighty-one years after Nazi Germany's surrender, Jewish communities worldwide marked Liberation and Rescue Day as antisemitism rises anew. The Torah commands us never to forget the irrational hatred symbolized by Amalek, a force that reappears in every age. The antidote is living memory, transmitted from parent to child. That across Israel and the diaspora, Jews gathered under the banner "from generation to generation against antisemitism" is itself a fulfillment of the promise that the Jewish people endure. Recalling divine deliverance reminds us that the darkness has already been pierced by the light of God's eternal covenant with Israel.
