Torah perspective
Today is ראש חודש סיון, the very day when Rashi tells us ישראל חנו כאיש אחד בלב אחד before receiving the Torah at Sinai. The headline laments how hard it is to hold onto that unity over time. But the Torah's language is precise: ויחן, singular, not ויחנו, a oneness that transcends the natural fragmentation of many wills. The Zohar teaches that the כח of this one moment never left us; it is the inner garment in which the Torah was given, and it waits to be revealed again whenever we recommit to the same clarity of heart. The question is not whether the unity is lost, but whether we remember where it is stored.
