Torah perspective
Israel's army is meant to be a mirror of the nation's covenantal character, not merely its utilitarian shield. The Torah's vision for the camp is kulo kadosh, a space where the Shechinah dwells through kedushah and tzeniut. When equality becomes an absolute that overrides halachic boundaries, it risks hollowing out that sanctity from within. The real question is not whether women can serve, but whether the army can remain a vessel for divine presence. A military that builds its framework around the camp's holiness, not around imported social values, will find itself stronger in every dimension.
