Torah perspective
The counting of every name in the wilderness was not bureaucracy but revelation. Each tribe, each family, each individual received a number because each carries a unique divine spark that no one else can replace. The Midrash teaches that when God told Moses to count Israel, Moses asked how he could possibly number a people compared to the stars. God answered: just as no two stars are alike, no two souls are alike. Your particular combination of strengths, struggles, and circumstances is not random. It is the precise set of tools you were given to fulfill your purpose. The question is not whether you matter. The question is whether you will show up and take your place.
