Torah perspective
A single life is an entire world, and Staff Sergeant Negev Dagan's world was given in defense of our Land. The Sages teach that one who falls in sanctification of God's name ascends to a level that even the greatest living tzaddik cannot attain. Yet Torah insists: choose life. The deepest tribute to such a soul is not only to honor his memory but to strengthen our own bond to the Torah, the Land, and the people he served. Negev means 'parched land,' but from his sacrifice, the soil of Israel is watered, and the spirit of the nation is fortified. His life, though ended, continues to nourish us all.
