Torah perspective
A monster is off the streets, but the question cuts deeper: what kind of world produces a soul that plots to poison children simply for being Jewish? The Torah teaches that every human being is created in the divine image, yet that image can be so thoroughly obscured that one becomes a *rodef*, a pursuer bent on destroying innocent life. The halachic imperative is clear: 'If someone comes to kill you, rise up and kill him first.' Justice here is not revenge; it is the sacred duty of protecting the innocent. The 15-year sentence is a small but real act of *tikkun*, restoring a fragment of safety to a world that still groans under the weight of senseless hate.
