Torah perspective
The deepest question about Jewish power is not whether we have it, but what it is for. The Torah commands "justice, justice shall you pursue", the repetition teaches that even the means must be just, not only the ends. A Jewish state that abandons reverence for human life in the name of zealotry has already lost its soul, regardless of how many battles it wins. But the same standard applies to those who judge us: when Europe demands restraint from Israel while excusing far greater abuses elsewhere, that too is a corruption of justice. The path of Torah is neither brute force nor naive weakness, but power consecrated to the image of God in every person.
