Torah perspective
"סיימנו להתנצל", "We're done apologizing." These words from Israel's Heritage Minister carry a resonance that reaches far beyond politics. For generations, Jewish existence in exile was defined by the need to explain ourselves, to justify our presence, to soften our distinctiveness. The Torah's vision is the opposite: "And you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation", a people called to stand tall in its divine mission, not to shrink. The end of apologizing is not arrogance; it is the recovery of the confidence that comes from knowing who we are and Whose we are. When a Jew stops apologizing for being Jewish, the world gains something irreplaceable.
