Torah perspective
Abe Foxman carried a paradox his whole life: a hidden child of the Holocaust who became the nation's best-known fighter of Jew-hatred, yet who signed every message to those he loved with "LOL" -- "love you lots" even after he learned what it meant. He is a living lesson that moral clarity against evil need not harden the heart. He believed hearts could change, rejected cancel culture, and held optimism and vigilance together. That is the Torah's own command: "You shall not hate your brother in your heart" (Leviticus 19:17). The fight against hatred is sacred precisely when it is waged from an uncrushed, loving heart.
