Houthis continue to engage in ‘fierce battles’ in mountains near Aden, Taiz - report
The war for Yemen could also affect talks in Tehran, with any talks with Iran taking the Houthis into account
Assessment
Fighting in the mountains near Aden and Taiz signals that the Houthis are pressing on two fronts at once, not consolidating a single position. The mention of Tehran talks matters: any negotiation with Iran now carries a Yemen file attached, which gives the Houthis leverage beyond the battlefield. Watch whether the mountain fighting shifts toward either city, and whether diplomacy moves first.
