Zelensky Will Be Less Enthusiastic: The Public Compliment Israel Received from Russia Regarding Ukraine
The Russian ambassador addressed the country's involvement in the Middle East. He also thanked Israel for its refusal to supply offensive weapons to Ukraine in the war against it.
Assessment
Russia's ambassador publicly thanked Israel for refusing to send offensive weapons to Ukraine. That compliment, tied to Israel's Middle East involvement, signals Moscow's satisfaction with Jerusalem's neutrality. For Zelensky, it confirms Israel won't tip the balance against Russia. Expect Israeli policy to stay careful, but this praise could strain Ukraine-Israel ties further.
