Polanski urges Miliband to block Rosebank oil field to enforce Israel sanctions
The Green leader cited the involvement in the project of an Israeli firm with alleged links to West Bank settlements
Assessment
A Green Party leader is trying to leverage UK climate policy into a vehicle for Israel sanctions by targeting the Rosebank oil field. The hook is an Israeli company with West Bank settlement ties. This turns a fossil fuel debate into a foreign policy pressure point. Watch whether the government treats this as a legal matter or a political test.
