Meir Ben-Shabbat: Israel must prepare for copycat aviation attacks
Former National Security Adviser Meir Ben-Shabbat warns of potential copycat attacks following the Flydubai hijacking attempt, urges Israel to maintain military pressure on Hamas to thwart kidnapping plots
Assessment
Meir Ben-Shabbat's warning points to a real risk: a single hijacking attempt can inspire imitators, and Israel's security services need to treat that as a live threat. His call to keep military pressure on Hamas ties directly to preventing kidnapping plots, which remain a persistent concern. The next step is watching how security forces adjust procedures at airports and checkpoints.
