Assessment
Amos Giles' book uses dark comedy to process a childhood spent moving between countries and cultures. The author's own nomadic background becomes the raw material for a story that treats displacement with humor rather than sentimentality. Readers should watch whether this personal lens finds a wider audience beyond those who share similar experiences of rootlessness.
